Agora (Concert Band) - A spirited fanfare full of surprises, Agora was commissioned for the Minnesota Symphonic Winds' 25th season. Named for ancient Greece's gathering places, Agora celebrates music's role in gathering people together. For college, advanced amateur and advanced high school bands.
April Sky (Orchestra / String Orchestra) - This serene work, inspired by the new beginnings that arrive each spring, was first composed for string orchestra and later adapted for full orchestra. Dedicated to the Northern Symphony Orchestra, it is suitable for high school, college and amateur ensembles.
NEW! Capitol Fanfare (Concert Band) - This patriotic fanfare, commissioned in 2017 by the Minnesota State Band, commemorates the reopening of the Minnesota State Capitol building and incorporates passages from the Minnesota state song, Hail! Minnesota by Truman Rickard, along with original themes.
Christine’s Lullaby (Orchestra / Concert Band) - Christine's Lullaby honors Christine Lee Hanson, the youngest victim of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Moments of quiet chamber writing lead to an emotional close in this powerful work for high school, college or amateur ensembles.
The Eagle's Island (Concert Band) - This brief, colorful tone poem paints a musical picture of a remote island inhabited by a single eagle. Each section is given moments to shine, with special emphasis given to alto saxophone, trumpet and percussion. For high school, college and amateur bands.
The Minnesota Portraits (Concert Band / Orchestra) - Commissioned by the Calhoun-Isles Community Band, this three-movement suite portrays scenes of Minnesota life, including daybreak at Lake Calhoun and the headwaters of the Mississippi River. For high school, college and amateur ensembles.
Monuments (Concert Band) - This slow-tempo fanfare, commissioned by Carondelet Catholic School, calls to mind the many monuments in America's capital city. Ideal for high school or advanced elementary school bands, it includes basic syncopated rhythms and a few simple meter changes.
Remembrance (Concert Band) - Remembrance, commissioned by Carl R. Schenker, Jr., and Susan Sherman Richardson, honors the many who served in the American Civil War, incorporating both original themes and Civil War-era melodies. For high school, amateur and college bands.
NEW! Southwest Memories (Concert Band) - Commissioned by the Southwest Foundation to honor the 75th anniversary of Southwest High School, Southwest Memories is an eight-minute series of interconnected musical episodes that represent fleeting nostalgic thoughts as one looks back on favorite high school memories.
Two December Carols (SATB Choir with Piano or Harp) - This set of two vocal holiday pieces, commissioned by the Wells Fargo Chorus, pairs music with beautiful poetry about falling snowflakes and traveling Wise Men, setting texts by Joyce Kennedy and Shannon King. For high school, college and amateur choirs.
Two December Carols (Concert Band) - These two brief holiday-themed pieces ("Snowflake Song" and "Wisdom") were commissioned by the Calhoun-Isles Community Band and Ann M. Verme in memory of Carol Voight. Ideal for holiday performances of high school, college and amateur concert bands.
The Willing (Concert Band / Orchestra) - Available for band or orchestra, this patriotic fanfare honors members of the U.S. military, whose service and sacrifice inspire all Americans. A trumpet-heavy piece, The Willing is best suited for college, advanced high school and advanced amateur ensembles.
