Agora (2003) was commissioned by the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, a Twin Cities (Minnesota)-based adult concert band under the direction of Dr. Timothy Mahr, in commemoration of the group's 25th anniversary season of 2002-2003. The title refers to the ancient Greek word for a gathering place.
